After reading the FAQ section of the MechWarriro online website, I have two concerns.

1. They have not published the minimum or recommended system specs yet

2. they have announced that this is only going to work on a windows computer. So my new, pretty macbook pro is not going to be usable. This means I have to use my 4 year old desktop, or have to buy a new PC (not realistic).

I hope my old hardware can handle the game.... only time will tell I guess. or I could pony up some dough and play the closed beta... choices, choices.

My computer has a few years on it as well. So sharing the same concerns. I hope to get into closed beta and see if my old comp will be able to run it as well. Still have been able to play a fair amount of games out but having to set game settings way down to play alot of them. Unfortunately I don't have money to upgrade a computer myself and won't know when I will. So keeping my fingers crossed on this game.

Just found out I can dual boot my Macbook with boot camp. This might be my solution.

When is windows 8 coming out again? I suddenly care...

End this year somewhere... That said, considering Microsoft's reputation, you may want to wait for Windows 9, and just go with Windows 7 for the time being

Well with MWO graphics settings all the way down including the advanced settings, I can play. My old AMD Duo Core 2.3 gig CPU, 3 gigs DDR2, and 512meg 210 GF vid card wasn't working to well at first till they added the advanced settings. So with Dynamic Lighting and Shadows off and texture and particles low, its playing fairly well in Beta. Due to NDA can't say much more at the moment.

Sadly my computer doesn't do well with being attacked by mass objects or mass mechs surrounding me. I'll pretty much have to pass on this till I can upgrade to a better computer. Don't know when that's gonna happen. So could be out of playing this for quite awhile It portrays BattleTech so well though. So good luck to those who have a computer to run it well.
