So, what is everyone playing in the MMO world these days.

It seems like most of GCC is playing WOW or EQ2. There are some other ones that look to be coming out in the near future ie Age of Conan, Vangard, The Pirate one, etc.

Personally, I'm waiting for Age of Conan to come out for the 360. My gaming is better spent in the living room because my wife and I can still spend time together with my little boy and I don't have to do the batttle of "Why don't we spend time together"

My wife will play 360 and Wii games, but won't play pc ones for some reason.

Playing EQ2 and Planetside mostly myself. Maybe after a while I'll pick up Vanguard, but will have to see about that.

I've heard good thing about Phantasy Star Universe, if you want to try a console MMO. Also before playing that one as an MMO, you can play it in single player mode too.

Vanguard if anything, may draw me from EQ2. Of course the Marvel MMO will be played!

MMOs in general are starting to feel to cookie cutter to me. Time will tell.

WOW and City of Herores here. I'm looking to the POTBS, but Vanguard's forums are filled with EQ know it alls and arrogant asses, which I am sure will be in the game as well, so I'll pass.

Currently playing WoW, they've done some great things w/ the expansion. I find the big draw of MMO's is the community you get in and I've had a hand in creating a great, casual guild that also happens to raid. It came up several times by new members that we should admit we're a raiding guild and do things like enforce raid times and class builds and every time that person was put in their place, all of us had been invited to bigger raiding guilds or been in them and this was different and better. The Knids on Garona if anyone's curious. If you're not guilded or have many friends online then there's not much difference between that and an offline RPG.

I've been playing a little bit of the vanguard beta and it seemed pretty cool, didn't get to play it nearly enough though (in truth only a few hours) and it may be able to draw me away. Several guys where I work are planning on playing on the Woefeather server (I think that's the name) starting in the Dark elf area. The big thing for me that may draw me off are bards (although the animal/humanoids can't be them :(. I horribly enjoyed my EQ1 Bard, EQ2 basically turned us into archers w/ musical notes flying out of our rears. Vanguard's classes all seemed to have interesting mechanics. There's almost as many classes as EQ2, some the same, others different. The world's pretty big and travel plays a big role, or so I'm told.

Anyway, that's my 2 copper.

Triax, we've taken our 60's into the expansion zone and already I've dumped some good blue items for the green quest reward items from about the 2nd and 3rd complete quests already. Not only does your ceiling limit for level go up, so do all of the professions as new recipes abound and the new races are quite interesting in their new starting zones. BC is a great addition.

Not playing anything at this time but I got an invite to LOTRO open beta so after I get done with my class next month I'll give it a shot.

I'm willing to give it a shot because I love the source material and I'm interested on their variation on the MMO tank/healer/puller/buffer paradigm.

Seems my fantasy in Marvel tights might not come true:

Is the Marvel MMO Dead?
